Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about how Refund Resolution works, what we handle, and what to expect. Can’t find your answer? Reach out and we’ll get back to you directly.
Getting started
What is Refund Resolution?
Refund Resolution is a consumer refund-advocacy service. When a company denies or ignores a refund you’re owed, we review your case, contact the company on your behalf, and pursue the correct escalation channels to try to get your money back.
Is it really free to start?
Yes. Submitting a case and getting an initial review costs nothing, and there’s no obligation to move forward once we respond.
How do I submit a case?
Use the Start My Free Case Review form. It takes about five minutes — tell us what happened, who’s involved, and upload any supporting documents you have.
Do I need a lawyer to use Refund Resolution?
No. Refund Resolution is a consumer advocacy service, not a law firm, and this isn’t legal advice. Most cases we handle are resolved directly with the company through escalation and negotiation, without needing legal representation.
Fees & how it works
How do you get paid?
We work on a no-recovery, no-fee basis. There’s no upfront cost, and we only take a fee if we successfully recover money on your behalf. See our fee details for the specifics.
What happens after I submit my case?
We review your details and documentation, confirm whether we can help, and — if we move forward — contact the company directly and manage the back-and-forth on your behalf while keeping you updated.
What if you can’t recover my refund?
Because of our no-recovery, no-fee model, you don’t owe us anything if we’re unable to secure a refund for you.
Can I cancel or withdraw my case at any point?
Yes. You’re free to withdraw your case at any time before a resolution is reached — just contact us and let us know.
What we handle
What types of cases do you take on?
Online purchase disputes, transport and logistics issues, event and ticket refunds, warranty and guarantee claims, subscription and membership refunds, financial service refunds, billing errors, and travel and accommodation refunds. See our full services list for details.
My situation doesn’t fit neatly into one category — can you still help?
Possibly. Submit a free case review and describe what happened; we’ll tell you plainly if it’s something we can take on.
Can you help if I already disputed it myself and was refused?
Yes — that’s one of the most common situations we take on. A denial from first-line support isn’t always the final word.
Are there cases you won’t take?
Some cases fall outside what we can pursue — for example, claims past a company’s or regulator’s filing deadline, or situations with no reasonable basis for a refund. We’ll tell you plainly during the free review if that’s the case, rather than take on a claim we don’t believe in.
Do you work with cases outside the country you’re based in?
It depends on the company and applicable consumer-protection rules involved. Submit your case details and we’ll let you know if we’re able to assist.
Your case & documents
What information do I need to submit a case?
Generally: order or transaction details, relevant dates, any correspondence with the company, and proof of payment. We’ll tell you exactly what’s needed for your specific case type once we review it.
I don’t have all my documents yet — can I still start?
Yes. You can submit your case with whatever you have and add documents later. Missing paperwork won’t necessarily stop your case from being reviewed.
Will I have a point of contact for my case?
Yes. Your case is assigned to our team and you’ll be kept updated at key steps rather than left checking a ticket number.
Can I check the status of my case?
Yes — reach out using the contact details in your case confirmation and we’ll give you a current status update.
Timing & outcomes
How long does a case usually take?
It varies by case type and how responsive the company is. Simple billing disputes can resolve in days; more complex cases can take longer. We’ll give you a realistic estimate once we review your case.
Does it matter how long ago the purchase or incident happened?
It can. Many refund policies, chargeback windows, and consumer-protection rules have time limits, so the sooner you submit your case, the more options we typically have.
Is a successful outcome guaranteed?
No — and be cautious of any service that promises one. We only take on cases we believe have a reasonable basis, and we pursue them as far as legitimately possible, but no refund-advocacy service can guarantee a specific result on any individual case.
How will I be notified of updates or a resolution?
Through whichever contact method you selected when submitting your case — email or phone.
Security & privacy
Is my personal and financial information secure?
Yes. Case submissions are transmitted securely, and access to your file is limited to the team working on it.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. Your information is used only to work your case — not sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
Can I request that my data be deleted?
Yes. Contact us and we’ll handle your request in line with our Privacy Policy.
